Sales & marketing manager

Time Out is seeking a sales and marketing manager who will be our go-to for collaborating with our clients in creating win-win solutions.

Much like the Time Out brand, this person knows everything that’s happening and exciting in Beijing and is eager to be an active part of it. She/he will create custom experiences and offerings for our clients to ensure that they are the first to know about Time Out’s newest features and events as well as producing top-shelf, branded collaborations for our audience.

The right candidate will be an individual who is creative and has an entrepreneurial spirit, engaging personality and strong work ethic combined with good industry contacts and a commitment to creating new business opportunities be it straight-up advertising and more frequentlyy now, brand collaboration events. Most importantly, our candidate has innate and cultivated interpersonal communication abilities, with a prowess for creating and maintaining relationships.

Qualifications & Skills:
* Professional working proficiency in both Chinese and English
* Some marketing experience in a digital media or entertainment/lifestyle environment preferred, with a demonstrated track record of event planning, as well as maintaining strong client relationships
* Self-starter and ability to work independently
* Strong familiarity with and passion for Beijing lifestyle, culture, art and entertainment
* Understanding of the Time Out brand and its unique selling points and positionings.

Responsibilities:
* Establish the Time Out brand and story with advertisers
* Meet and exceed revenue targets every quarter
* Engage and strategise with senior executives at client companies and media agencies to demonstrate how working with Time Out will drive awareness, consideration and sales
* Pitch and create advertising packages and events that meet clients' needs and budget
* Identify and create revenue-generating opportunities
* Develop and deliver presentations and pitches.

* Possess the gravitas and personal characteristics to communicate at all levels when dealing with clients and all teams involved

Editorial

Managing Editor (English platforms)

Time Out is looking for a talented Managing editor to join the Time Out Beijing team to direct content on all its English platforms as well as produce the seasonal Family magazine. The successful candidate will have experience in managing editorial teams, know Beijing well and have a black book of contacts in the city. This vacancy is open now.

Main responsibilities:
* Set content direction and content plan for Time Out Beijing’s English platforms. These include: Time Out Beijing website, WeChat, Facebook and Instagram, Time Out Family seasonal magazine, WeChat and Facebook.
* Run a team of in-house and out of house editors to produce content and keep up to date all English platforms.
* Proof English copy that goes out on all platforms.
* Produce seasonal print issues of Time Out Family
* Attend sales calls and events to represent the brand and creating riveting content plans for pitches
* Managing an editorial budget

Requirements:
* 2 years experience in producing magazines.
* An English native speaker.
* Familiar with social media best practices.
* Familiar with indesign and working with a designer to produce seasonal issues of Time Out Family.
* Sharp sub-editing skills.
* Experience managing a remote team of in-house editors and freelancers.

The ability to speak and read Mandarin will be a huge bonus, as are design and photography skills, but these are not a requirement of the role.

Digital & Social Media editor

Time Out is looking for a talented Digital & Social Media editor to join the Time Out Beijing team in our noble pursuit of covering the very best of the city. The successful candidate will be an experienced writer with a background in digital and social content production, and an enthusiastic fountain of knowledge on Beijing’s many marvelous offerings. This vacancy is open now.

Main responsibilities:
* Create content for all of Time Out Beijing's digital platforms, from regular blog posts on Beijing news and events to big content packages.
* Oversee the website's event listings and venue pages.
* Manage our newsletter and all social media accounts, including our daily WeChat posts.
* Ensure that the website section pages are kept fresh and up-to-date.
* Maintain the accuracy of venue and event listings.

Requirements:
* At least one year's experience in a digital-based media or editorial role.
* Excellent writing skills and a thorough knowledge of the Time Out tone.
* An understanding of SEO, keywords, analytics and social media trends.
* Be able to generate shareable content ideas and know how to successfully execute them.
* Sharp sub-editing skills.

Video intern

Time Out is looking for a talented, enthusiastic intern with experience and knowledge of video production to join its expanding team.

We are looking for someone to produce short videos for our blog feed and social media.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Training in video production.
- Experience in the field.
- A knowledge of Beijing.
- Plenty of ideas to make engaging, shareable videos about the city that fit with the Time Out brand.
