This event has now passed.

New Noise is very proud to present Icelandic band múm for four specials shows in Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing celebrating 20 years of their groundbreaking album 'Yesterday was Dramatic, Today is OK'. The band has been praised for being able to take their listeners to a magical musical universe. Since their foundation in 1998 múm has been constantly releasing music simply bursting with a gorgeous melody, that relies heavily on electronic sounds and acoustic instrumentation. Their music is characterised by soft vocals, electronic glitch beats, innovative sampling and eerie effects with a variety of traditional and unconventional instruments.

Musically, múm’s capability to build playful electronic sound-ornaments around simple melodies is in full bloom, their mesmerising concerts will take you to Iceland. On December 23, 1999, roughly a week before Y2K was predicted to strike, múm released Yesterday was Dramatic Today is OK. The band stood outside of a shop on the main street of Reykjavík selling the album to rushing Christmas shoppers. But it wasn’t until later, when the album got its second release in 2000 and the subsequent international release in 2001, that the albums ripples began to be felt followed by stellar reviews. This year sees the 20 year anniversary of this innovative and influential album, with a special vinyl release and a short tour to celebrate.
