Trilingual summer camp

Jazzy Preschool is offering activities in English, French and Chinese for kids 1 to 6 years old at its upcoming summer camp. Bilingual immersion Montessori summer camp

Mammolina Children's Home Model Montessori Kindergarten is holding a bilingual Montessori camp for kids 1 to 6 years old and will be led by the school's experienced teachers. Kindergarten Creative Camp at CISB

For families with children 18 months to 6 years old, the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) is having a two to six-week camp at both its Liangmaqiao and Jianguomen campuses that will introduce young children to basic English phonetic sounds in an inquiry, play-based learning environment. Program fees vary depending on the duration (two to six weeks with a half-day or full-day option).

Theatre camps with Beijing Playhouse

Get kids to (literally) make a scene at Beijing Playhouse's upcoming Broadway summer production camps. From acting, costume designing, props and scene-making to experiencing the entire process of producing a show, the kids will become stars both onstage and off. Summer productions include Sleeping Beauty (July 1 to 13), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (July 15 to 27) and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (July 29 to August 10).

Theatre camp with TheArts

Let your child understand the classic The Wind in the Willows through TheArt’s drama camp that will culminate in a public performance. Kids experience drama work such as creating set pieces, costumes and props and learn firsthand the riverbank lifestyle of Edwardian England. Kids also get to understand the book’s characters through its script, predict the development of the story and think critically on themes such as friendship, kindness and habits from each characters’ point of view.

Kung Fu

Let the kids go kungfu fighting at this unique summer camp. More than just learning nifty moves, the Shaolin camp also includes cultural classes such as Chinese language and calligraphy courses and gives kids the opportunity to live in traditional Chinese houses right in front of the Shaolin temple. Classes are held between June 24 to August 17 and cost 6,200RMB per six days.

Watersports

Get the kids out of the heat and into the water with Imagine China’s classes and summer camps that includes sailing, kayaking, rafting and paddling. Classes are for kids 6 to 15 years old starting from June, where kids will learn how to sail an Optimist boat by the end of the camp. Classes are taught by experienced guides who have previously led watersports camps abroad and take place from June 17-21, July 1-5 and July 8-12.

Multisports camp with Flips and Kicks

Get the young ‘uns active this summer with Flips and Kicks Plus and Kerry Adventure Zone’s multi-sports camps. The sports offered in its programme include either half-day or full-day classes of martial arts, gymnastics, swimming, fencing, volleyball and more. Classes are divided into two groups:  4-7 and 8-12-year-olds and are run by experienced and bilingual sports coaches.

Volleyball

The International School of Beijing is running two volleyball camps this summer led by Bai Yun, the founder of the White Cloud Volleyball Club. With over 20 years of experience, including representing China at international meets, she has dedicated herself to coaching children post-retirement, hoping to pass on her skills and knowledge and inspire in youth a passion for the game. Children (7 and up) will be grouped according to age and skill level.

For those looking for classes to get your kids started on their swings, JW GOLF is holding lessons for kids six and up. The program, founded by New Zealand PGA professional Jasmine Wilson, is dedicated to improving students' golf games and are taught by qualified professionals. This summer, they're holding 10 week-long summer camps for different age groups: kids 6-8 years old and kids 9 and up.

Horse Riding

Learn the basics of becoming a complete rider with a weeklong four-day program designed by French riding instructor Alice. The sessions also include two periods of riding, one period of special knowledge training and a special focus on daily horse care before and after riding. Best for children seven and up of any skill level. There are seven sessions to choose from: June 18 to 21, June 25 to 28, July 9 to 12, July 16 to 19, July 23 to 26, August 13-16 and August 20-23.

Masters swimming camp

The Dragonfire Club is holding swim camps for children looking to swim competitively. Classes are conducted by high-performance swimming coach Elliot Ptasnik and Western Academy of Beijing's Aquatics director, Don Watson-Brown. There are currently three camps available: Camp A is for children Grades 5-12 from Monday August 8 to Friday 12; Camp B is for children Grades 5 to 12 from August 8 to 12 and Camp C is for children Grades 1 through 5 from August 9 to 12.

Horse riding camp for children with special needs

Non-profit organisation Horses Offering People Enrichment is holding summer camps for children with special needs. During four one-week sessions from Monday to Thursday, students will learn to ride, groom, feed the horses, play team games and do some arts and crafts. Spots are currently fully booked however, HOPE is still accepting participants who would like to go on their waitlist.

Jingwu Kungfu's 2019 summer camp

If heading to a Shaolin Kungfu camp isn't your thing, then this Beijing-based summer camp may be your cup of tea. There are four camp dates available, all from Monday thru Fridays from June 17 to June 21, June 24 to June 28, July 1 to July 5 and July 8 to July 21 from 9.30am to 4pm. The Atelier team has concocted a series of colourful, adventurous, cultural workshops for kids in Beijing. Language immersion camp with CISB

The Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) is offering English and Chinese Summer camps for 6 to15-year-olds. There will also be a one-week specialty program for students ages 10 to 15 years old at the Discovery Adventures Park at Moganshan in Zhejiang province. The programs are from two to six weeks from Mondays to Fridays June 24 to August 2 and cost 9,900-30,500RMB. Registration deadline is this Friday 24.

The camp features four professionally designed tracks covering STEM, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and English improvement for kids 5-6 years old. Tracks include Mission to Mars, where campers get to plan martian colonies under the guidance of a real Nasa astronaut, a Broadway theatrical performance workshop and a junior Picasso creative workshop. The Help Our China project

Wild China is running an educational adventure where kids get to travel across the far reaches of the Middle Kingdom. MASH Camp England is a residential summer camp in England Mornings will be spent studying for the students’ upcoming Trinity College exam, Cambridge FCE or IELTS while afternoons cover a variety of lessons from golf lessons and horseback riding to robotics and coding classes.
