Here in the capital, it's pretty fair to say we love a good beer, though if there's absolutely one thing we love more, it's a beer festival. Because of this, and because we Beijingers are already a fairly boozy bunch, we're pretty darn excited about the return of Jing A's 8x8 Brewing Project, a fantastic fest that pairs eight standout breweries from around the globe with eight exemplary
breweries from Greater China.
Taking place from October 26 to 27 at Vintage16 in Guomao, this year's festival shines a light on Nordic breweries, featuring crafty knockouts such as Denmark's Amager Bryghus, Sweden's Brewski, Iceland's Kex Brewing and more. Over the past six months, the teamed-up beer wizards have worked together to
produce some truly special brews, which are set to be consumed alongside
companion pints from all the breweries involved in one satisfyingly hoppy haze.
Discounted early-bird tickets
have just gone on sale for the festival, so we recommend getting them
while they’re hot. The 8x8 Festival takes place over four sessions, with the first one kicking off on Friday 26 October (8-11pm) and the remaining three on the following day (12-3pm; 4-7pm; 8-11pm). 258RMB will get you entry into one of the
three-hour slots, though tickets purchased from now until September 26 are available for the brilliant early-bird price of only 208RMB. For those with the stamina to attend all four sessions (we salute you), tickets are priced at 988RMB or 888RMB (early-bird).
With 40 unique beers to try at each session, and more than 130 over the course of the entire festival, we recommend wearing your best beer drinking shirt – things are likely to get messy. To purchase tickets, scan the QR code below.
