Yugong Yishan has long been a stalwart of Bejing's live music scene, championing local acts alongside bigger names. For numerous few months now, the silence from the rocking stage has spurred on speculation that Yugong will be the latest Beijing spot to close, and unfortunately, our fears have been realised.

The owners posted an official notice
on WeChat this week stating that their current home on Zhangzizhong Lu will be closing for good after 11 rocking years. However, the enterprising multi-taskers have also taken the opportunity, while announcing their closure, to put out a call for a new venue. Specifically, a venue in Beijing that's got a floor space of least 1,000sqm, a ceiling height of over 8m and is located in an area that doesn't disturb residents.
So, if any of you know a place like that, get in contact with the plucky mountain movers and hopefully we'll all be rewarded with some more killer live music in the future.
