Ultra Festival is officially coming to Beijing

Tickets to this September's fest are on sale now

Miami-founded electronic music festival Ultra is a pretty big deal in the EDM world (and outside of it, too). So, it was no surprise when folks here in China got pretty excited to hear of Ultra China's return in 2018. Unfortunately, there were just a few setbacks.

In case you haven't heard all the news: the Ultra organisers attempted to hold both Ultra Beijing and Ultra Shanghai this year. Ultra Beijing, originally set to take place back in June, was postponed first, with the DJs set to play at the two-day festival heading to Sir Teen and One Third for club takeovers instead. Ultra Shanghai, scheduled to take place this upcoming weekend (September 8 to 9) has also been cancelled, with club takeovers happening there as well.

But the news of Ultra Shanghai's cancellation came with a very good side note for us Beijingers: Ultra Beijing has now apparently been confirmed for September 15 and 16, far afield at Changping's China NHC Base.

It's been announced on the official Ultra Worldwide Facebook page

Ultra Festival made its Mainland debut in Shanghai last year, with headliners Armin van Buuren, Zedd and Martin Garrix. This time around, the EDM behemoth is finally coming to capital, with Afrojack, Axwell & Ingrosso, DJ Snake, Galantis, Nicky Romero and Steve Angello among the big names, as well as a China return for Armin van Buuren. Pre-sale tickets are coming in hot at 1,280-1,580RMB for two days.

For the full lineup, check out the poster below.

Just to get you even more excited, on a completely unrelated note, here are some Ultra DJs and their dogs.
