Chicago is coming to Beijing this November

The musical... not the city

'Murder, greed, corruption, exploitation, adultery and treachery... all those things we hold near and dear to our hearts' – no, we're not talking about a Saturday night out in Sanlitun, world-famous musical Chicago is coming to Beijing.

A huge Broadway hit that has toured the world and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film, Chicago is set in the 1920s, Prohibition-era Windy City, telling the story of rival vaudevillian murderesses Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart and their battle to avoid death row while simultaneously striving for the fame they oh so desire. It's also got a suitably killer soundtrack, including the awesome 'Cell Block Tango' and 'All That Jazz'.

The show is coming to the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center from November 1-18 (though tickets are currently only available for first four days) and you can book your seat through Time Out Tickets. The cheapest seats are already sold out, with remaining tickets ranging from 380-1,180RMB, and discounts available for tickets bought in pairs. Click on the event listing at the end of this post to snap up yours.

This isn't the only Broadway hit to arrive in the city this year, with Kinky Boots, Cats and Rent all set to grace the Beijing stage later this year.
