Go to a Peking Opera

Peking Opera, or jingju, is the national art form of China. Head to the Temple Theatre Beijing Opera House any Friday or Saturday for traditional performances full of love, war and vocal acrobatics.

Pay your respects to the Chairman


From 8am to midday every day (except Monday), visitors can see Mao Zedong’s embalmed body at the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall in Tiananmen Square. This is a classic 'kooky date idea' and should be approached with caution.
