It's almost Christmas! For those who are still looking for decorations for their homes, we've put together some of the best Christmas shopping destinations in Beijing. For those buying through Taobao, here are some useful words to copy and paste into your searches:

Liangma Flower Market

A one-stop shop for practically all your yuletide needs, the new-and-improved Liangma International Flower Arts Market stocks an army of artificial Christmas trees (700-3,800RMB), boxes of baubles (25-58RMB), giant wreaths (roughly 320RMB) and hoards of vaguely sinister Christmas dwarves and reindeer.

Laitai Flower Market (莱太花卉市场)

Laitai’s mighty flora fest is a reliable stop for a Christmas conifer; the genuine ones – both domestic spruces and North American imports – can be found throughout. Stalls at the rear sell artificial trees and various decorations. Prices are similar to Liangma’s.

Your Swedish friends bring some Kristmås konvenience to Beijing: the furnishing megamart has seasonal stock stationed just before the tills on its bottom floor, including wrapping paper, lighting fixtures, baubles, wreaths and more. Artificial trees, named Fejka, range from 199RMB (155cm) to 599RMB (200cm), with small potted options also available online and in-store.

Ignoring the numeric nod to Satan at this supposedly holy time, this petite flower garden is another good stop for a genuine tree, just outside the CBD. Stock can be limited, but they process orders quickly.

Flower Talk (花之语)

This flower shop has a variety of affordable Christmas decorations on sale. Hanging bells, Santa decorations, artificial wreaths, Christmas tree decorations and tinsel all start from 10RMB, while artificial Christmas trees are from 100RMB and up. Christmas trees with built-in lights and decorations from 350RMB.

Bairong World Trade Center (百荣世贸商城)

The giant supermall stocks all sorts of affordable Christmas items including Christmas trees, wreaths, singing Santa Claus statues, snow globes and even miniature Christmas villages on its fifth floor. Snowmen, Santa statues and wreaths are all from 30RMB, while Christmas signs start from 15RMB. Shops also sell affordable gift wrappers from as low as 1RMB per sheet and ribbons starting from 1.50RMB each.
